Painting with JH Watkins

Our favorite local artist will be back for the summer. JH Watkins internationally known artist, and famous locally for his patients with beginners will be coming back to the center. JH will hold classes a few times a month through the summer.

Boater's Education

We have many groups that gather to play pickleball in the gym or outside (weather permitting). This is an organized adult activity that takes place every weekday.  Don't have the equipment, no problem, NWCC can supply you with paddles and balls. 

​

Class Times: June 2nd 6 pm - 9 pm & June 3rd 8 am - 3 pm (Must be at both days)

Outdoor Family Fun Night - July

Outdoor Family Fun Nights are a special "Summer at The Center" feature free for our everyone to enjoy! This year we are adding special excitement to each night. July's theme: Cars We will offer a wide lineup of vehicles for a Touch-A-Truck from 6p-9p followed by the movie Cars. Movie show time start at dusk and offer free popcorn and water. Starting in July they will run the fourth Friday of July and August. 

 

Movie Dates: July 28th and August 25th (theme TBD)

Science in the Summer Camp

This camp is funded through GSK and enables Science Central to bring hands-on activities to 2nd-6th students, introducing them to different STEM sciences. The theme for this year is "Be a Physicist!" We will explore the duties of 3 different physicists, completing activities related to the field. This will be a 3 day camp, 1-hour sessions each day. (max of 30 students per session). Session grade levels are based on the 2023-2024 school year. Click the session that best fits your scientist and register them today!

Session 1: June 19th, 21st, 23rd from 10am - 11am (Grades 2-4)

Session 2: June 26th, 28th, 30th from 3pm - 4pm (Grades 4-6)

Session 3: July 10th, 12th, 14th from 9am - 10am (Grades 2-6)

Science Lab - Busy Bees

Buzz into this lab to explore bee anatomy and life cycles. Students will examine the features of bees and what they need to survive, as well as the shape and function of honeycombs.

Age: Kindergarten and 1st Grade (This is based on the 22-23 school year.)

Science Lab - Frog Dissection

Frogs have body systems similar to our own, leading to discussions about classification, adaptation, and reproduction.

Age: 4th - 8th grade (This is based on the 22-23 school year.)

Shark Dissection.png

Science Lab - Shark Dissection

Sharks are very intimidating creatures. Your students will be fascinated as they learn more about sharks by learning new vocabulary and by dissecting a shark.

Age: 7th grade and up (This is based on the 22-23 school year.)

Outrageous Orbiters (1).png

Science Lab - Outrageous Orbiters

Build a model of the sun, earth and moon to see how they orbit one another as day turns to nights and the moon moves across the night sky.

Chalk Walk 

What can you create? North Webster Community Center has miles of sidewalk...why leave them blank and boring! Come into the office and grab the supplies. Bring a friend, bring the whole family, or just bring yourself. There is no age limit, find a square make it yours! We are not seeing lots of rain this summer, chances are, your art work will last for weeks! We can't wait to see our property turn into a walking art show!

​

Age: If you can hold the chalk to if you can sit on the ground

​

Times: As long as the center is open (even if it isn't, you just have to bring your own chalk)

 

Cost: Free

 

Class Location: Any square on our property.
